Position Description:

About Your Responsibilities

The Community Manager position oversees all aspects of LIHTC (low income housing tax credit) compliance within the property and applicable affordable housing programs. Responsible for approving prospective resident applications, completing initial and annual re-certifications, audit preparations, and preparing of weekly/monthly reports.

Essential Responsibilities:

As our Community Manager, your primary responsibilities include:

  • Ability to respectfully train, coach, and guide team in a positive productive manner
  • Self-starter attitude, reliability, discretion and ability to maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times
  • Attention to detail and accuracy with good organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Maintain effectiveness of the on-site staff through ongoing training, coaching, counseling and guidance
  • Ensure that community appearance and repairs are noted and completed on a timely basis
  • Utilize marketing strategies to secure traffic as well as oversee property advertising and marketing sources, such as online and social media sites
  • Contributing to the achievement of established financial objectives by collecting resident rent, posting rental receipts and managing delinquency
  • Achieving occupancy levels by conducting informative and personalized tours of the community which result in new leases
  • Reaching resident retention goals by striving to ensure every resident interaction is positive
  • Ensuring that the community’s interior and exterior are impeccable, and the team appropriately represents the Veritee brand with a crisp, professional appearance
Qualifications and Competencies:

What You Bring to Us:

  • Must have at least 3-5 years on-site management experience
  • Affordable Housing Tax Credit experience - LIHTC- HOME
  • Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) and Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) preferred
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Google
  • One-Site Real Page Property software experience required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Proven career success in multi-family housing industry
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management; internally and externally.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and people
  • Verifiable experience originating, maintaining, and meeting an annual budget
  • Experience being an inspirational leader of others
  • Spanish speaking a must
  • Must have knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements
  • Sales aptitude
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, good driving record, current insurance
  • Ability to work some Saturdays

Required Experience :

  • 2 - 3 + years of recent hands on experience in the property management industry
  • Knowledge of TDHCA rules and regulations for Tax Credit program
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry software systems; preferably One Site Real Page
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Proven career success in multi-family housing industry
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management; internally and externally.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and people
  • Verifiable experience originating, maintaining, and meeting an annual budget
  • Experience being an inspirational leader of others
